Terms and Conditions
Last updated: 15 October 2026
1. Who we are
The website kidilab.com is run by Adrien Martin, a sole trader based in France, trading as Kidilab, of 20 allée Alexandra David Neel, 33300 Bordeaux, France. Our French business identification number (SIREN) is 537 492 787. In these terms, ‘Kidilab’, ‘we’ and ‘us’ mean Adrien Martin. You can contact us by email at contact@kidilab.com or through our contact page.
These terms apply to orders placed through the UK pages of our website by consumers, meaning individuals acting for purposes that are wholly or mainly outside their trade, business, craft or profession. By placing an order, you accept them. Please also read our Privacy Policy.
2. The product
Kidilab creates personalised treasure hunts for children to print at home. The kit is digital content in PDF format (A4) and includes:
- up to 12 activities (riddles and challenges), suited to the age group and theme you choose;
- the welcome letter, the congratulations letter and the treasure map to cut into pieces, hide and put back together;
- a personalised certificate for every player and the organiser’s guide for the party.
Two options are available at an additional charge: an extension to up to 20 activities, and personalised party invitations. To use the kit, you need a PDF reader and a printer.
The kit is created from the details you enter: the children’s names, the age group, the theme, the activities, the hiding places and the map. Before you pay, you can see a summary of your treasure hunt and a preview. Please check names and details carefully: the kit shows exactly what you type. We do not post anything: you print the kit yourself.
3. Prices
- The complete kit costs £12.90. Each option costs £1.90 extra. The total amount to pay is always shown to you before you pay.
- Prices are in pounds sterling and are the total price you pay: there are no delivery charges or other extra costs.
- Kidilab is based in France. Even though you pay in pounds sterling, your bank may treat the payment as an international transaction and charge a fee for it; that fee is set by your bank, not by us.
- We may change our prices at any time: the price that applies to your order is the one shown when you place it.
4. Ordering and payment
To order, you choose the age group, the theme and the activities, enter the hiding places and the map, add the names of the players, check the summary and the preview, then pay.
Payment is made online by card or with PayPal, through Stripe, our payment provider. If your device supports them, you can also pay with Apple Pay or Google Pay. Card details are encrypted when they are sent: we never see or store your full card number. You confirm that you are entitled to use the payment method you choose.
Before you pay, you can check all your details in the summary and correct any mistakes with the edit buttons. The contract is formed once your payment is confirmed. The contract is in English, the only language offered. We keep a record of your order, but you cannot view it online, as there are no customer accounts on the UK pages. You can view, save and print these terms on this page at any time.
5. Delivery
Your kit is ready to download as soon as you have paid. We also email the order confirmation, with the download link, to the address you gave when ordering. You can download the kit as many times as you like until we delete your personalisation, 24 months after the party date or, if you gave no date, 24 months after payment (see our Privacy Policy). If the download does not work, email us at contact@kidilab.com and we will send you a new link.
6. Your right to cancel
You can normally cancel a contract made at a distance within 14 days. For digital content that is not supplied on a tangible medium, however, regulation 37 of the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 provides that you lose your right to cancel once we have started to supply the content, if:
- you have given your express consent to supply starting before the end of the cancellation period, and
- you have acknowledged that you will lose your right to cancel.
By confirming your order and downloading your kit, you expressly consent to us starting supply immediately and acknowledge that you thereby lose your right to cancel.
However, if a technical problem prevents you from using the kit, you can contact us and we will refund the price of your order within 14 days, using the payment method you paid with and without any fee.
7. If something is wrong with your kit
As a consumer, you have legal rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015: the kit must be of satisfactory quality, fit for any particular purpose you made known to us before ordering, and as described. A fault that appears within six months of delivery is presumed to have been there on delivery. If it is faulty, for example because a file cannot be opened or is incomplete, you can ask us to repair or replace it, free of charge and within a reasonable time. If we cannot do so, or do not do so within a reasonable time or without significant inconvenience to you, you can ask for a price reduction, which may be the full price. We pay any price reduction within 14 days of agreeing that you are entitled to it.
If digital content we supply damages a device or other digital content belonging to you, and this would not have happened if we had used reasonable care and skill, we will repair the damage or compensate you for it. To make a claim, email us at contact@kidilab.com with your order number. For free, independent advice on your rights, you can contact Citizens Advice (or its equivalent in Scotland or Northern Ireland).
8. Your licence
Kidilab keeps all rights in the kit (texts, riddles, illustrations and challenges) and in the website. When you buy a kit, you receive a personal, non-exclusive and non-transferable licence to use it. You may:
- download the kit and print it as many times as you need for your family or your party;
- hand out the printed invitations to your guests.
You may not:
- sell, share, publish or distribute the kit or its files, in whole or in part;
- use the kit for a paid event or any other commercial purpose;
- alter the kit or its files in order to present them as someone else’s work.
9. The details you enter
You are responsible for the details you enter. When you enter the name of a child or a guest, or other details of the party, you confirm that you are a parent or legal guardian, or that you are allowed to share this information for the party.
10. Safety and our responsibility to you
A treasure hunt is an active game: an adult must prepare it and supervise it. Choose safe hiding places that the children can easily reach, and adapt the activities to their age.
We do our best to provide content suited to the age group you choose. If we fail to comply with these terms, we are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breaking this contract or of our failing to use reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for loss or damage that is not foreseeable. We supply the kit for domestic and private use only: we are not responsible for any loss of profit, loss of business or business interruption.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability where it would be unlawful to do so, in particular for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for breach of your legal rights in relation to the kit described in section 7. Your statutory rights as a consumer are not affected.
11. Customer service
For any question or complaint, email us at contact@kidilab.com or use our contact form. We reply within two working days (Monday to Friday, excluding French public holidays).
12. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by French law. This choice of law does not deprive you of the protection given to you by the mandatory rules of the law of the part of the United Kingdom where you live (Article 6 of the Rome I Regulation, Regulation (EC) No 593/2008, as it applies in the United Kingdom). You can bring legal proceedings about these terms in the courts of the part of the United Kingdom where you live: England and Wales, Scotland or Northern Ireland. If we need to bring proceedings against you, we will do so only in the courts of that part of the United Kingdom.
If there is a problem, please write to us first: we will look for a solution together. We are not required by law, by these terms or by any other agreement to take part in an alternative dispute resolution scheme. For free, independent advice, you can contact Citizens Advice (or its equivalent in Scotland or Northern Ireland).
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The version in force when you placed your order applies to that order. The date at the top shows the latest update.
